About Corvallis Art Beat

CORVALLIS -- Corvallis Art Beat is an arts portal that showcases a variety of dynamic and interesting content pertaining to local Corvallis, Oregon artists, musicians, dancers/choreographers, actors, directors, writers, poets, you name 'em - anyone involved in the arts scene in and around Corvallis! Maybe even you?

I (Rob Birdwell) built, run and maintain Corvallis Art Beat out of a sincere desire to offer a site that provides a wide variety of dynamic and useful content about the local arts scene, and particularly in the areas of Art, Music, Dance, Theatre and Literature.

Naturally, I don't pretend to think I can possibly cover every aspect of the arts - I'm too busy doing my own music thing! So this site has what I call Beatniks. Beatniks are content contributors (folks involved in some way in the Corvallis community of the arts) who post their perspectives, observations, stories, reports, news, events - the "beat" if you will.

Hopefully, you'll find something entertaining, fun and interesting at Corvallis Art Beat. And if not, become a Beatnik and help to fill the void! After all, that's what art is all about - creation.

You can learn more about me and my creative outlet(s) by visiting BirdwellMusic.com.

Feel the beat!

First Leap

The proverbial leap of faith...every project starts somewhere...and this one starts like this!

Corvallis Art Beat will have the very latest content for Art, Music, Dance, Theatre and Literature - it's going to be cool...and useful.

Why only Corvallis? Well, my family and I live here for one. Besides, getting a handle on all the latest goings for Corvallis alone will be a Herculean effort!

By the time we release (and you'll see it evolve - it's pretty humble right now...but not for long!) there should be something that actually looks like a web site - with the exception that 95% of everything here will be dynamic...produced by a crack team of Beatniks from the Corvallis area!

After all, don't we all want to spend less time geeking and more time doing the fun stuff!

More later!
